Background of Problem The consultancy of Superfarm Ltd. has requested a proposal from JPQRW Engineering Ltd. for the design of a time saving, eco-friendly low cost irrigation system that will be used for watering seedlings in there green house and outdoor short crop plant operations. At present, Superfarm current irrigation system consist on no less than twenty workers armed with watering cans, manually watering their crops on a day to day basis. This system has lead to the company running two shifts to accommodate the watering of their plants at sunset and sunrise, which are the times considered best for irrigation. Superfarm has found this to be a time consuming; costly (with regards to labour) and tiring exercise. In addition, Superfarm would also like to accommodate the new system in their plans for further expansion of their green house. The request was sent to JPQRW Engineering Ltd. The proposed irrigation system took into account each aspect of their listed requirements and the short coming of their situation. The Design Proposal Taking into concerns the needs of Superfarm, JPQRW Engineering has come up with an inexpensive design incorporating the use of a series of contactor relays, timers, photon sensors, electric motors, submersible pumps and irrigation water heads.
